As a patriot, Mr. Kagimu has and continues to coordinate visits of high profile dignitaries from all over the world to the Republic of Uganda. Notably is the October 2012 visit to Uganda by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad accompanied by Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Alboukhary of the Mining Corporation Berhad (MMC) and H.E. Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar Properties PJSC, UAE.
This exposure continuously promotes foreign direct investment throughout the East African region. He is an active SMART Partnership Movement Partner hence his influential role in coordinating the signing of the MOU between Uganda and Malaysia on Standards during the Commonwealth Heads of Governments Meeting (CHOGM) in Perth, Australia in 2011.
Mr. Kagimu is a major Philanthropist who has and continues to support needy causes both at the personal and corporate levels and is a staunch advocate of cultural diplomacy. In August 2008, he played a central role in funding the visit of twenty children and three officials from the SOS Children's Home for orphans from Uganda on a one month Diplomatic Student Exchange Programme with orphans from Trinidad and Tobago. It provided a unique and rare opportunity for students from both countries to meet and understand more about their cultures and societies.
Mr. Kagimu was the recipient of the 2008 SUNSHINE AWARD for the many Humanitarian Contributions to Society. This Award was conferred on him by the Sunshine Awards Organization, in New York – USA on Saturday, 25th October 2008.
Mr. Kagimu is married with children and he is an ardent anti-smoking campaigner who discourages the youth from alcohol consumption, drug abuse and premarital sex. He has relentlessly encouraged the youth to seriously pursue their education for a bright future.
